Joshua has only had two "real" haircuts. Why? Well ... he was mostly bald until well into his second year of life and I figured once his hair finally showed up ... it couldn't be THAT hard to trim the locks. Besides, I don't dig paying $10 every 6 weeks to trim up the rough edges.
Two years ago, I found clippers at TJMaxx ... on clearance and for two years, I have been cutting my child's hair with REALLY important pieces missing. I've had two years to buy the missing guard sizes to make ... say ... blending a bit easier. But for two years, I've managed to trim up the back with the 6mm guard and move to the 18mm with only a slight line half-way up his scalp.
Something happened the other day that made me wish I had actually gone to the beauty store in the past 740 days ... I was in the midst of cutting J How's hair when ... the infamous younger brother came in and bumped my arm. ZZZZZST! I knew it was trouble just from the sound. And then I looked. No problem. Totally fixable. I continued to work ... creating my masterpiece. I had J How show Ben the final result and well ... let's just say that Ben HIGHLY suggested I just shave it all off. Apparently, my skills need work.
So here is the new do ... a throw back to his first year of life ... except now ... he's just the slightest bit more of a HAM ...

J How LOVES his new look ... and I actually think it's very "him" ... but I still think I'll be making my way to Sally's this week. And adding a 10 and 12 mm to my collection :)
I totally feel your pain. Remember the bad cut I gave Scott before a wedding one year. Ooops. Sally's does have every size you might need and right now Costco has a really nice Wahl set for only $29.00. How sweet is that?

ReplyDeleteAs he got out of his car seat Joshua said "Bella, how do you like my new hair cut?" Truly, it suits him well ! Put the new ends or the Costco set on my tab :)
