This is Ben's dream chair. It's leather. It reclines. It's comfy.
This is not my dream chair. My dream chair is much smaller and much less brown.
It wasn't an easy good-bye for the brown chair. It sat in our room - alongside it's new friend - for two weeks. Every time I wanted to get past the brown chair ... I had to think REALLY skinny thoughts and hold my breath.
One day, I was out shopping and Ben moved the brown chair. Not to the garage or to the back of the van so we could send it to a new home ... but to the front patio. No worries though ... one of our neighbors saw it and welcomed it into her home.
Shelley ... THANK YOU! Our patio thanks you ... and I'm sure our other neighbors thank you!
And in other decorating news ... I made my annual trip to Target on New Year's Day. You see ... no one wants to buy patio furniture on New Year's Day except ... a bargain hunter. 75% off. Two years in a row I've scored some serious deals. Like my new rocking chair for $24.98 and the lovely red cushion for $2.48. I also bought some fun umbrella lights for a lovely spring party that I'm hoping to host ... and when I got home and reached in the bag to pull out my fun umbrella lights ... this greeted me ...
A prickly, dead cactus at the bottom of the bag. Nice of them to throw in a little something extra for me ... don't you think?
I think it looked comfy on the patio. Lucas would be jealous you gave it away! And as for the cactus...I once came home to find a pair of scissors in a container that I hadn't paid for. I returned them to the store (and got a funny look for doing so). Maybe you should do the honest thing and do the same!
ReplyDeleteOh, I didn't know what that was in the bag!
ReplyDeleteKeep us in mind for your lovely party...
#1I want that brown chair, is there any way you could ask Shelly to send it to Wheaton?
ReplyDelete#2 I don't think in a million years you would ever find a dead cactus in your bag here.
Sweet bargain shopping! I love that!
