So far.

So far, it's only Tuesday and we've been having quite the adventures over here. I've been here and here ... and here ... and avoiding time at our own house because it looks a little grim right now. See example A: (more on that fun another day!)

So ... while I was out avoiding the "flood" (as we like to call it) ... I meandered into my second favorite toy store. My first is on the other side of town and this one is a distant second ... but they are having a 40% off of everything sale. So that makes a distant second become a favorite in no time!

This bright green packaging caught my eye. Bamboo sticks ... of sorts. They were cool colors and really ... that's what won me over. That ... and the directions are in many languages other than the one I speak fluently so I figured we'd be making up our own rules. And you know how I enjoy making rules!

Once I got home ... I laid the sticks out on the table. J How and Eli were HOOKED! They made creations that made a mother proud ... gears, xylophones, roller coasters, tracks ...

Houses for their trains ...

And best of all ... I cooked dinner in peace.
Until Ben came along and taught them how to build SUPER high buildings and knock them over with a gigantic CRASH!
And I did end up getting a few fun things at the Domestic Bliss sale ... an eyelet crib skirt for Baby #3 and some funky bird paper.
And a lamp - spotted by my MOM - at Home Goods. I was going to buy a vintage one at a cute Mesa store but wrestled with the color. Glad I passed on it ... this one is perfect!
