Vacation Bible School. One of our favorite things about summer. Last year, Joshua had THE BEST TIME and sang and danced like a champion. That is ... until ... the final program. At the final program, J. How had a complete meltdown. I suppose you could call it "Three Year Old Stage Fright in Epic Proportions." I didn't see it in person but I saw it on video and it wasn't pretty.
So this year ... the final program was talked about WELL IN ADVANCE. We talked about being on stage from day one. Joshua knew the dance moves by the time he left
VBS on Monday. He was swaying and grooving to the tunes the entire car ride home. I would have put him up against professional dancers. He even offered his family a private performance in the front room. And some year ... I'll post video. I'm certain you'll want to use some of his moves in your own dancing repertoire.
I had just given birth a few hours before the night of the
VBS performance ... and J. How assured me that he wouldn't freak out and would go on stage. He told me that when he gets nervous, God protects him. There you have it ... no reason to be nervous at all!

The night went off without a hitch! He did a great job and I do believe ... LOVED being on stage! My favorite part, however, is hearing Joshua (and Eli) still singing the
VBS songs. Hearing them sing about Jesus makes even the most tired, cranky, mother-of-three ... extremely cheerful! (That is .... until it's 3am and I can't get the catchy tunes of my my BRAIN!)
Love that boy. Hopefully, next year they can go to that one together.
