Thanks, Miles and Kate! I tried to hold off on posting this picture until the thank you note was in the mail ... it's late ... but it's coming!

Elefun ...
Miles and Kate gave J How this cool game for his birthday ... but J How thinks the nets are hats. "Hat, please Mom!" I tried to tell him they're for catching butterflies but apparently he thinks this is just as much fun. In his defense, the first game he got shot out one butterfly about every 2 minutes. We got a new one but those butterflies must be scared of a giant two-year old with 4 nets because they just don't like coming out! Ben thinks it's the cheapy batteries that I insist on buying ... so tomorrow ... I'm making Carrie Bost history and I'll venture out to somewhere other than the dollar store to buy batteries. I might have to attend a 12 step class when the day is over - therapy for expensive batteries - but if it will make J How happy ... I'll make the sacrifice.

It's a Big Day at the Bost House ...
BIG BOY BED!
Well ... it's not exactly his real big, boy bed ... but I won't be too picky. J How has a fun bed all set up from IKEA and we've been waiting (okay ... I've been dragging my feet) to put him in his new room.
We were reading books in his new room today and I was talking to J How about his big, boy bed. We had a few people stay with us last week and there was a twin mattress left on the floor of his new room. He thought the twin mattress was the big, boy bed and ... the rest is history!
I told How that he couldn't get out of his bed until he was done sleeping and then he needed to tell me, "All done, Mom!" I heard him wake up so I rushed upstairs to give him a big high five for taking a big, boy nap and after about five minutes of J How staying put ... he finally looks at me and says, "Get up?" What a good little rule follower! If only he would do that good of job when it came to my not pushing little kids down at the park??? Oh well ... one step at a time!

I did make him stay put until I ran downstairs to grab my camera ... he got back under the covers just for the photo moment!

Music Class! Yippie!
J How LOVES "muzick" ... jazz, rock, classical ... he's one music loving boy! Once he finds his favorite tune, you might be subjected to listening to it for DAYS on end. I have nightmares that involve Jingle Bells and Take Me Out to the Ballgame.
Jamming to Ricky Martin ... got to love the classic tunes!
J How and Sienna getting sticks from Miss Renae ...

More guitar moves ... notice Mook made it to the class (in Eli's carseat) but I'm trying to figure out where Eli is? Hmmm? Maybe he's underneath Mook? Nice parenting skills!!
In one of my weaker moments, I decided it would be best if this love of music was encouraged and developed. So ... I enrolled J How in a music class taught by a gal from the Phoenix Conservatory of Music.
To say the least ... How thinks this is the best thing ever. Miss Renae (the teacher) will play one song and the rest of the kids will quietly sit on their parent's lap and just listen. Not my How ... he hops up, screams "Yeah ... Yippie!" And then looks straight at Miss Renae and says, "Gen, Gen! One more time ... one more time." He also has a strange addiction to this little plastic guitar ... weird ... but if this keeps up ... perhaps he has a future? Ben and I did watch the Air Guitar World Championships on tv the other night?? Who says a parent can't dream??!!

Good-Bye, Harley!

Harley, our pug of five years, has been staying at my mom's house since Eli was born. As time went one, Ben and I realized that with 2 boys and his crazy travel schedule ... we needed to find Harley a home where people could give him all the attention he needed and deserved. So ... we made the REALLY difficult decision of giving him up for adoption to the Arizona Pug Rescue. Lots of tears ... but we feel we made the best choice for our family and for Harley. We sure will miss him. He added a lot of joy to our home and a LOT of fur!
He is currently with a foster home and might find his forever home this week. The gal from Pug Rescue says they're doing a home visit for an interested couple in the next few days. We're praying that Harley finds just the perfect home!
