The Benefits of Being in the 8th Percentile of Weight ...

Last week at his 15 month appointment, Joshua weighed in at a scale busting ... 20 pounds, 14 ounces! The nurse tells me she'll be right back with his percentages. Head ... 70%, Length ... 50%, Weight ... 8%! I bet if he actually could grow some hair, we'd be looking at 21 pounds even!
I'm not worried though. (Okay ... I did spend a good 5 minutes assuring the doctor that he eats like a trash compactor and that he's never missed a meal!) But I'm not worried. Especially when my friend Mikele (who had the appointment just before me) ... announced that her son, who is about 6 weeks younger than Joshua, weighed in at a solid 26 pounds.

Mikele, Miles, Joshua and I went to Olive Garden after our fun at the doctor's office and I watched everything that Miles ate and took notes. The result ... Joshua is on a new eating plan ... it's called, "How to Gain Weight - Eat What Miles Eats!" I'll let you know how it works :)

But for now, there are advantages to being in the 8th percentile ... like these: When you're little, you can sit in a wagon designed to hold up to 80 pounds, most likely until you're able to drive. And if you can't reach a toy in the cabinet, just crawl on in and get what you need. And you're able to keep the "rolled up pant look" totally in fashion! See, it's not so bad after all!

  1. What is he wearing in that last picture?

Secretly, I feed Miles the "Iron Man" capsules that Josh has in our cabinet. The side effects are extreme hair growth, so it might really work out for you guys...

  2. I'd rather not get into that ...

Iron Man capsules, huh? We need those. I cut A long hair of Joshua's today so we'll try anything!
