Over the Carpet and Through the Kitchen ...

I'm not sure where he got this idea ... but awhile back, Joshua began to believe that these blocks (that other children might use for such crazy things as stacking) were his "Shooos." He protests when I try to put REAL shoes on his feet and insists that he needs "two shoos" ... with the "oh ee" (the monkey block) and the "meeeee ow" (the kitty block). And really ... who am I to tell the kid those aren't really shoes?

This morning, he added another element to the block shoe fun ... deciding to take a hike around the house with EVERYTHING he could possibly fit in his hands and stuff in his tiger backpack.

The expedition didn't last long before Joshua encountered his first injury. No worries ... Harley quickly arrived on the scene to assess any damage. Nice to know he's in good hands when his mother just continued to snap photos :)

Once he recovered from the fall, Joshua thought it might be a good time to take a load off and rock a bit. Mind you, he has this thing that he can't rock without the pillow behind him. Try explaining to a 19 month old that there is not enough room for his tush, his backpack and his monkey to fit on the ITSY BITSY seat. Yeah ... it didn't go over too well.

So here he is with a killer face trying to prove that he really can make it work! Hmmm ... a trait I'm sure he got from Ben because I never insist that I'm right :)

Finally, he gave up on trying to fit on the rocking chair and decided leaning on the rocker was a good compromise. (Okay ... so maybe Joshua and Ben are just a smidge alike because I'm pretty sure I'd still be down there ... determined to fit everything on!!)

  2. So he's taking after his mom quite nicely with his shoe affinity!
