Ben's parents ... otherwise called Cake and Pap Pap by Joshua ... came into town this past week. Cake told Joshua that she had a special surprise for him and of course ... that got Joshua smiling from EAR to EAR!
Cake brought the best surprise she could have found ... a train conductor hat, scarf and whistle! Now he has all the accessories to be ONE with the train world! He was so excited!
Don't you just love what the conductor hat does to his little ears?? (I think he's trying to play it "cool" in that picture. He was literally squirming with joy!)
Cake also found a special Thomas the Train car for J. How ... a dragon car. Joshua was living in a thin slice of train heaven!!
And while Joshua was telling Pap Pap thank you for all the fun things ... Eli was trying to find a little treasure of his own.
Oh yes ... the beloved HOT DOG!
Strange but it's one of his favorite things. He really does have LOTS of toys to choose from but this is what wins his heart (and slobber) almost every day!
And Cake spoiled our little Eli a bit. He's not the best eater but after a few times on Cake's lap at lunch (and dinner) ... Eli was munching down anything and everything in sight!
After dinner ... off to The Coffee Shop for a yummy treat. Joshua would not take off the conductor hat and insisted on pulling Eli all by himself.
Finally, he decided to conserve some energy and took a load off. Good thing Cake and Pap Pap were around to give them the final push to our destination!
YUMMY! Joshua picked out his dessert choice ... a cupcake with yellow frosting and sprinkles!
DELICIOUS! (He has a thing for licking off the frosting ... almost all of it went into his tummy before the remaining cake portion landed on the floor but he was already on a SUPER sugar high at that point ... so he really didn't notice!)
And poor Eli. Stuck in the wagon ... no treats ... only a cup of ice water and a straw but have no fear ... the evening did not end in wagon abandonment ...
Cake rescued him and he gladly accepted her offer of a chocolate chip cookie!
