I might be classified by some as boring. Perhaps I'm misunderstood. I simply like to consider my options and stick to what I know.
I don't know snow. I don't particularly like being cold. And I'm not spur of the moment trip taker. But it's the 19
th of the month. I've had over two weeks to implement this "whole new me" plan. So ... when Ben suggested trip, snow and RIGHT NOW ... I agreed.
We took my new mom mobile on a drive up north. It involved a LOT of screaming from my favorite E and a lot of chatting from J How about his dislike for snow (a substance he's never before encountered - he must take after me!!)

However ... once we arrived ... How quickly changed his anti-snow opinion.

Joshua would have like to have paused for a photo op but he was too busy stomping tracks. And more tracks ...

And more tracks ...

And I offered to make a snowman. (Please refrain from mocking the snowman ... I had no gloves and was holding the true snow hating son with one hand).

Eventually, How stopped for a perfect snow memory!

Followed by an ice cream cone. Nothing beats eating ice cream on a cold afternoon!

And in the blink of an eye ... the snow was gone and we were on our way back home. I might just start to like this new spur of the moment thing ...
In CO we don't need to take a road trip, the snow is just out our back door. However, we don't sit outside in our new patio furniture in Jan... It's all relative
ReplyDeleteI, in no way whatsoever, think you are boring.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun adventure! I've been wanting to go to the snow lately. Especially since Sam has been asking why it didn't snow on Christmas (a very wrong idea he got from his snow-loving grandmother).
ReplyDeleteSpontaneity is a great thing! Good for you! I dig your snowman. :)
ReplyDeleteI, too, am not good at spontaneity. That's what Kevin is for - he keeps me on my toes! I used to be better at it in my "younger days" but I don't know what happened.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, I bet that will be a day you will remember for a very long time. Sweet little J How and his kisses... :)

Next time you get the urge and want to be spontaneous travel a litttle further north and I'll arrange something! Of course that would mean a LOT more E-screaming and J-chatting! But I'm sure you'll have that under control ... and I'll have wine when you arrive! :)
ReplyDeleteYou may not see this because I'm posting way after you did...but...it's not really a "snow" trip, when it's all gone 30 minutes into your ride. If you really want a fun snow trip, come see us over here on the cold side of the country...but hey, it's a heat wave this week...40 tomorrow...where are my shorts???
