A Wedding ... Texas Style ...
Wedding #14: Amy and Daniel + Austin, Texas + A trip made with ZERO children = A VERY FUN WEEKEND!
A little history ... I LOVE my Amy T ... now Amy K. Still not happy with the fact that she ditched toasty AZ for the rolling hills of Austin but give me a few more years and I might just forgive her. We met at Scottsdale Bible. We created a group called "Singles at Six" (do I hear snickering? What, you don't like the name?) We traveled to Ireland together and we both have an "iffy" relationship with milk products. Trust me, only true friends can tough out a lactose intolerant episode!
The rehearsal. I was late. Why, you might ask? When I had nothing else to do on Friday except shower (and I forgot to do that) and be at the church by 4:45pm? Well, as a helpful travel tip, you probably shouldn't go to the city you've never been to, have your husband drop you off at Anthropologie and tell him to pick you up in 3 hours when you LOST YOUR CELL PHONE and have no way of contacting any friendly life form with a Texas area code!
Good thing I've done this part a few times. And on wedding #14, I got bumped up to bridesmaid with an additional role ... SCRIPTURE reader. From Song of Solomon, no less. Rrrrrrrr! That's right folks. Good thing I decided to write down a copy instead of the ad-libbing I was considering.
Rehearsal. Done. Next up ... BARBECUE!
Two of my most favorite people in the world ... Tom and Kathy ... Amy's parents.
Me ... becoming ONE with my inner-Texan. Shiner Bock beer and a beef rib so big you might just believe it came from a Texas cow!
Did I mention it was ALL YOU COULD EAT?
Some people decided to cast judgment on the amount of beef that was entering my body ... no worries ... I wore my Spanx under the dress ... it hide all the indulgences from the night before.
The big day. The "I-Do's" and ...
Mr. and Mrs.
Ben and Christian ... during their brief stay at the reception. Christian was playing in the Rock and Roll Marathon on Sunday and had to catch a flight back to Az. Ben, offered to be his chauffeur. Worked out great for me ... I got 2 pieces of delicious wedding cake!
The longer married Mr. and Mrs.
The happy, blurry couple!
I have to say, the real fun started when we arrived at the airport for the trek home. Can we say, MARY KAY convention. Scottsdale, Az. On our flight. Fifty of Mary's finest. It just doesn't get anymore Texas than that. If I only had thought to take video!

You look gorgeous. And even though I had a sneak peek at the pictures, it was better with commentary.
