It's been almost 3 weeks (well ... in less than 24 hours it will be 3 weeks) ... since we've added a third kiddo to the crew. That would also be 3 weeks since I've had more than 3 hours of consecutive sleep ... and 3 weeks of our home operating more or less like a 3 ring circus.

J. Howard has been a rock star big brother. Of course, he's had this job title before so he's had the most practice. He still has an amazing amount of energy (seriously AMAZING) and needs to release all his "I've been inside for the entire day because it is 110+ outside" wiggles ... but he loves Audrey and trust me ... if you remember back to how he welcomed Eli into the world ... the fact that he already professes his love for her is a MAJOR accomplishment! It took him months to feel the same way about E.

Eli has also taken to his role as the second in charge ... but is clearly adjusting to his additional added role of being the MIDDLE CHILD! He can't quite decide if he's BIG or LITTLE. It pretty much depends on the moment and how much attention he is needing. He too "
wuvs Baby
Awdwee" and loves checking out Audrey's toes and making sure that her cord is still gone. And if Audrey has a diaper that needs changing, E is the man ... always ready to help!

And as for Audrey ... she seems to be making herself at home. She is already on a three hour feeding schedule (something I was NEVER able to accomplish with the boys) and seems quite content with the world. That is ... unless it's the tragic hour between 8-9pm ... when she sees fit to scream at the top of her lungs. Oh ... and that miniature Cars band-aid on her finger ... have I ever mentioned that I HATE cutting fingernails? First attempt ... on the first nail ... and well ... let's just say I think all of my children will be needing finger cutting therapy.

And ... this arrived this past week. Thanks Bella and
GiGi! We ordered it about 3 months ago and could hardly wait to open the box. The doll is handmade by a group of moms (who prayed for Audrey as they made it!!) and I would highly recommend checking out their
website.

Our verse for Audrey is Habakkuk 3:18-19:
"Yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will be joyful in God my Savior. The Sovereign Lord is my strength; he makes my feet like the feet of a deer, he enables me to go on the heights."
I've been assured that soon ... life with three kids will seem completely normal and I'll be throwing dinner parties in no time! We'll just see about that!!
OH MY GOSH! I didn't even realize you already had your baby! Congratulations!!!! She is adorable!!
ReplyDeleteThat's it. I need to come over (by myself) and hold that girl.
ReplyDeleteI just chewed off their fingernails for a little while and yes... I really did.
Glad J is a pro, E is adjusting, and A is on a good schedule! Sounds like your 3 ring circus is running pretty well :) You're doing great!

ReplyDeleteAudrey is getting sooo BIG...already changing!!!
Can't wait to see the TRIO again!!!
I was given a baby nail file when N was born. I didn't like using it but it might be an option for you! And I'm so glad you loved the doll. It is still on my wish list for M's first birthday!
ReplyDeleteI made Kaden bleed the first time I cut his nails...It's made me nervous ever since.
ReplyDeleteThe dinner parties will be soon to follow...I promise!
