July 4th.
Otherwise known in this house as ... J. How's HALF BIRTHDAY!
Joshua's actual birthday lands 10 days after Christmas. It's after Thanksgiving, all the Christmas parties and right after New Year's. Let's just say that 10 days after Christmas, everyone is tired of "doing" and just wants to relax. So ... How's birthday often gets celebrated in a very mellow manner.
Which is why ... we make his HALF BIRTHDAY a bit of a big deal. How made special requests ... a transformer party with a transformer cake! Check. Check. (See the little orange car by How's elbow ... that's our model. He really wanted an orange transformer but he was just as happy with yellow!)
Here are the boys showing GiGi the cake!! (And yes ... we have become very relaxed around these parts ... children on the countertops and shorts are optional!)
Before the party started ... there was a little family swim! Well, everyone joined in except me and AEB. It looked like FUN and I was melting outside snapping the pictures!
And then there was a little Audrey squared bonding time ...
And then ... dinner ... and PRESENTS! And one very yellow Bumblebee transformer!
And a racing car set!
And finally ... the best part ... having a piece of cake!
HAPPY HALF BIRTHDAY, HOW!
It was a FUN day for everyone. Hard to believe JHow is on his way to being 5. Doesn't seem possible ! xoxo

I'm declaring my half birthday a holiday starting this August 3rd. I wonder if I could fool Krispy Kreme.
