First things first. I post this fabulously attractive side picture of myself to show you ... my mostly unlocked jaw. After a treatment called a lavage, where water is injected and pulled from the jaw socket (was just about as lovely as it sounds), my jaw was "pushed" back into place. It was held in that new position for 4 weeks with splints. Again, more fun. The lower splint was reduced in size this past week and I was given the OKAY to eat without it in my mouth. My goal was to eat an In and Out burger without picking it to pieces and well, it sort of worked. Only problem now is that my back teeth do not touch. That's right ... I enjoyed my burger with my mostly unlocked jaw .... gumming my food.
Ahhh ... at this rate, I'll be looking forward to dentures! My future might include a bite adjustment if my teeth continue to not touch and I ... well, I'll keep you posted!

Now, onto more fun topics. Like kidnappings. After enjoying my In and Out burger, I went outside to water some plants. I came back inside to see a purse on the table. I opened the purse, pulled out the cell phone and checked the picture. Just call me Detective Carrie. One of my favorite people had flown into town to kidnap me for the night! That's right ... no kids ... no responsibilities ... just me, Em and a night on the town!

We drove to
Oro Valley, hit up
Walgreens for some treats, stopped by Pei Wei, grabbed movies at the Red Box ... and a trashy magazine to catch up ... and had a blast!! Thanks for the surprise, Em!

Saturday was my official birthday ... THIRTY-TWO! It's still settling in. I had a great day ... with no hair mishaps like last year. Just an eyebrow waxing. And a bit of shopping. Delightful!

Then ... it was back to our usual lives. Lives with extreme heat and excessive humidity. Humidity that makes this one's hair curl like crazy! I LOVE IT!

We gaze at the outside world ... but rarely venture outdoors for fear we might melt.

So ... we do things like make the world's longest
Play dough train.

Some of us prefer to eat the
Play dough and ... really, to each his own. When it's that hot outside ... it's hard to turn down any indoor activity that keeps them occupied :)

The new favorite indoor game is No-Hands Kickball. Ben's invention.

All hands in pockets.

And it's CRAZY fun. A bit dangerous given the speed at which they run at the ball and the small size of our kitchen ... but nothing a little cabinet padding couldn't fix!

And finally, I spent the other morning googling. Really fun stuff like ... How To Get Urine Out of a Mattress ... and How To Remove Makeup from a Wool Rug, thanks to J How and Eli! Vinegar and Baking Soda for both. Who knew? After that fun .. I figured ... why not use my Google skills for something a tad more up my alley so I tried, How to Make Organza Flowers. And the above is my first attempt. A fun hair clip to add a bit of spunk to my summer do!
That top picture is just so exciting. Seeing you open your mouth wide... I hope it continues to get better.
