We're back from CA. It was a fabulous trip ... filled with family, food, SeaWorld, vomiting (but when do our vacations not include a little something extra) and FAMILY PICTURE TIME.
I just downloaded 752 pictures. Who takes 752 pictures in 4 days? I guess .. WE DO.
And while I will eventually get to pictures of the turkey (stuffed by J How himself) and pictures of Shamu and a most excellent Santa (with real whiskers) ... first, I give you a behind the scenes look at what one family (okay, maybe just our crazy family) goes through to get that one perfect photos that encapsulates everyone's smile and personality. Well, that's pushing it. How about that one photo where everyone is just looking at the camera? Even that might be a stretch.
I give you ...
Christmas Card Photo Session: Take ONE
Centering the subjects.
Take TWO:
Calmly mentioning to the Howster that he must STAY PUT for the picture. Wandering will not be permitted.
Take THREE:
The photo within ... the photo.
Take FOUR:
The menfolk work on lighting issues behind the scenes. The smallest child has escaped and the oldest child is being bribed. And me ... well ... I just look confused. Or is it perplexed that my children can't stand still and stop talking for ONE SINGLE FAMILY PICTURE?
Take FIVE:
The minis have allowed their inner monkeys to take over all bodily control ...
Take Six:
And Take SEVEN:
Everyone takes a cue from the boys in stripes and lets out their own inner crazies ...
And Take EIGHT (or if we're really counting ... more like Take FORTY):
After serious bribing, running after escapees, pointing, screaming SMILE, shouting LOOK AT THE CAMERA, hoping you didn't just blink ... We finally had a winner. Just pretend Joshua is smiling and Eli is looking at the camera. Do us all a favor and just pretend because that was seriously exhausting.
Hilarious! I always wonder how you get such great pictures on the blog and now I know - patience. :)
ReplyDeletejust think...you're creating memories (and maybe a few gray hairs!)
ReplyDeleteI like the running commentary. You would have had a ball at our shoot.
ReplyDeleteThis post makes me feel a lot better about our luck with family pictures--I just wish I was as patient as you guys. We usually quit after 30 pics of no one looking at the camera :)
ReplyDeleteLooked like alot of fun, just kidding. What a beautiful family photo. Loe ya, Auntie Renie
ReplyDeleteAll those people are just getting in the way of that very pretty house! ;)
