A Little Munchkin ... Anyone?

I once read an article on parenting that discussed the issue of bribing your children. Issue? Really, do we have to be so negative? I'd prefer to think of bribing as an essential tool, a way to make your day way more pleasant or my personal parenting motto: NOTHING BEATS A GOOD BRIBE!
So ... since I fully believe that bribing won't cause my children any long term damage that can't be fixed by a few years of therapy, as a little incentive for Joshua to have a good day, I promised (okay, who am I kidding ... it was a full on bribe) ... the mouth-watering yummy-ness of Dunkin' Donuts! After naps and before dinner (because nothing beats a pre-dinner sugar high) ... it was off to the world of orange, yellow and pink!
Awaiting the sugary GOODNESS ...
I had to convince Joshua to bite the munchkin (poor thing was getting licked to death) and once he did ...
It was MUNCHKIN LOVE ... at first bite!
Second time around ... in it went!
Ahh ... the positive effects of a good old fashioned bribe!

  1. Bribes are FINE. Whatever works! And I think your boys could use a few extra calories anyway! Are they really that small? They are SO cute.

  2. Seriously, it is a shame that your child has no personality whatsoever. I can almost hear the joy in those pictures! And I say Munchkin bribes are the best kind!!

  5. How about instead of the word "bribe" we call it a lesson in rewards. Just as there are consequences for bad behavior, why don't we just call this the consequence for a good choice?
    Spin it! :)

  6. I'm drooling for Dunkin Donuts - we don't have one anywhere in the state. And I'm all for bribery. My child ate 3 bites of spaghetti tonight in exchange for a popscicle :)
